Keys announced the happy news on Instagram on Sunday. "The joy of joy is joy!! It's a boy!!" she captioned the below photo. "We are so grateful!! #blessings!!"
This is the second child for Keys, 33, and her husband Swizz Beatz, 36. They are parents to son Egypt, 3, who is ready for big brother duties.
"He's so excited," Alicia said in November on Live! With Kelly and Michael.
"He comes up and kisses the belly all the time, and he's always asking,
‘Mommy, can the baby be in the bed with me?' I'm like, ‘well not at the
beginning.'"
Egypt was apparently hoping for a little brother, but he came up with potential baby names for a girl too... just in case."He's like, 'What about Prince Eric or Ariel?'" she laughed.
Guess they didn’t go The Little Mermaid route when picking a name!
Alicia announced she was expecting in July.
"Happy Anniversary to the love of my life @therealswizz!!" she shared
on Instagram. "And to make it even sweeter we've been blessed with
another angel on the way!! You make me happier than I have ever known!
Here's to many many more years of the best parts of life."
In September, Alicia showed off her pregnant belly, posing nude for the "We Are Here" campaign, which aims to "create the change we all want to see in the world."
"It's
you and me on a mission to create a kinder and more peaceful world,"
she wrote alongside the photo. "The #WeAreHere Movement begins today."
"Being
a mother has definitely given me more of a fierceness and an
understanding of just what I believe in, that much more," Keys later
said while promoting the movement on The View.
Alicia now has two times the fierceness. Congrats to the happy family!
